Setting Up WiFi
Your QuadClock works just fine without WiFi, but turning it on unlocks some great extra features:
- Automatic time synchronization
- Internet radio
- Set the alarm from your phone
- Fine-tune advanced settings
Turning On WiFi
Use the controls on your QuadClock to navigate to 'Settings' → 'WiFi' and turn WiFi on.
To connect to your home network, you have two options: set it up via your phone or temporarily connect the clock to your computer using a USB cable. Note: QuadClock only supports 2.4GHz networks.
Using Your Phone
Once WiFi is enabled, check your phone for a network called 'Clock' and connect to it. Then, open your web browser and go to http://192.168.4.1/setup. Enter your WiFi credentials, and once connected, the 'Clock' network will disappear.
To find your QuadClock’s IP address, navigate to 'Settings' → 'Version'. The SSID and IP address will be displayed on the rightmost screen. Enter this IP address in your web browser to access the clock’s web interface.
Using a USB Cable
On a desktop or laptop, open the firmware install page in Chrome or Edge. Select your QuadClock model and click 'Connect'. A popup will appear asking you to select a serial port.
Now, connect your QuadClock. A new serial port should appear in the list. Select it and click 'Connect'.
In the popup that appears, select 'Change WiFi'.
Wait for the list of available WiFi networks to load, then select your network and enter the password.
After connecting, click 'Visit Device'. Take note of the IP address in your browser’s address bar or bookmark it for easy access to the QuadClock’s web interface.
Using the Web Interface
From the homepage, you can set the alarm time. The leftmost 4x6 buttons set the hour, and the rightmost 2x6 buttons set the minutes. Select an hour and a minute, then click 'Set'. To turn off the alarm, click 'Alarm Off' and then 'Set'.
In the 'Radio' tab, you can listen to internet radio. If you first select your country, the 25 most popular stations will be displayed. The last station you listen to will be used as the alarm sound if you choose internet radio as your wake-up option.
In the 'File Editor' tab, you can directly edit QuadClock’s internal files. You can even add your own fonts and sounds! Be careful when modifying the 'system.json' file, as it contains important system settings.
